Our mothers coming home from Shul

Our mothers coming home from Shul
Pencil, 8.5 x 11 - Original owned by D. Glick, N.Y.

One thing is sure when talking about prayers. there's real sincerity in the prayers of our Jewish mothers. Their Tehilim and Machzor soaked in motherly tears, hoping and praying for the best in their offspring. It is their constant devotion and love, that earned them the title of a "Yiddishe Momme".

In this scene, we have two Yiddishe Mothers coming home from prayers, with their prayer books in their hands. I can imagine them lamenting their woes, a son who left to America, a daughter to marry off, a family of hungry mouths to feed. Did anything change?
